Families Through Adoption Staff Members
Char Lanning is a founding member of the agency. She brings her passion for families and twenty years of experience in the world of adoption. She and her husband, Gale, have two daughters adopted from China and a young son who is part of a kinship care program. Char also has a sibling and other relatives who are adopted. Her goal is to unite families and then help them to have the resources they need to raise their children to develop to their fullest potential as adults.
Melissa brings experience from her volunteer work at an orphanage in the Philippines as well as other administrative and adoption related work. She and her husband are the proud parents of an active toddler and hope to complete an adoption in the future from the Philippines.
Social Work Supervisor
Mary Moore is a single parent of a college aged daughter adopted from China, who brings insight, understanding and compassion to her work. She also provides education and guidance for families through the home study process and training for staff and board. She has over twenty-five years of experience as a limited license psychologist and was part of the initial development team for this agency.

Judy is a single mama to a sweet girl she met in 2009 (born in 2006) while serving as a missionary in Uganda at an orphanage. Judy’s passion is serving vulnerable children and families, whether in the USA or Uganda, in whatever way possible. That might be through adoption, or empowering women with job skills, or connecting a family with resources to strengthen their relationships. She has degrees in Social Work and Graphic Design, and loves connecting her faith and her skills in a variety of ways.
